Can we visit and feed the wombats
The answer is sadly No.
We are wildlife carers rescuing wildlife from dead road kill mum's or being injured and unable to survive-in the wild without out intervention.
We rehabilitate them and are mindful that these have to be resiliant wild wombats and manage in the wild. Not come up to humans. for a cuddle,
Also a note about Dogs and Dingos . These are main predators of wombats, the few seconds it takes to decide if this dog is going to attack me or play is all it takes to be the end for a wombat. Those kangaroos, and wombats that have been brought up with lovely friendly dogs dont generally last long in the wild. We have even tried desensitising them to the dogs and its not worked. We do not take wildlife raised with dogs.
This is why our wildlife carers licences prohibits this, its a pretty good reason.
We like to educate via calendar, website and social media as generally wombats and kangaroo's are not regarded very highly by farmers and many others.
Where to see wombats. There are numerous zoo's around with Australian wildlife or go camping, sit quietly and you might be surprised what you see, theres numerous camping grounds on the east coast of Australia that have wombats.
We would love to have you visit but its just not possible
