2018 - 2021 Little Buble 492gms
Mum was left on the road where she had been hit by a car, luckily Dianna came along to move mum off the road and rescue little Wombat. She weighs just a tiny 492g (4 months old) and will take 2 years to grow to around 23 kg. She is now getting fed every 4 hours around the clock. She will drink around 60 litres of specialist marsupial milk with the sale of one brooch buying 1/2 L milk! Also chewing her way through around 24 teats, although sometimes they can shred a $4 teat a day when teething. She will need to be kept warm on a special heat pad for the next two months till she has grown some nice fur. Little ones with no fur, nude as we like to say, are called ‘pinkies' for obvious reasons. She will also require us to cut many kilos of grass roadside and she will journey through 3 stages here to her eventual supported soft release. With so many dead mums on the road it won't be long before we have a buddy for her, sadly.
Bubule, along with her buddies Pearl and Lucy has spent an extra year in care due to the fires then the cleanup of 7 properties past rocklily with all the trucks. She enjoyed just spending time relaxing in the hay against the play log, in the morning sun. Now she’s 4 months into her soft release we see her only occasionally using her wombatorium, where she can come and go through a wombat door to sleep in her old burrow or under her favourite log. We will soon be shutting her out so Lucy can wild-up before a spring slow release.
Then buble just as we were to start her release came up lame unable to walk on back leg, there was a cyst on tibia so rest for 3 months in the biggest icu pen had her raring to go, she was quite happy in her old box with a floor of hay and food and water on tap. She then spent 3 months getting her fitness back and finally looking ready again. so soft release started late may 2021
Bubble comes and goes from the wombatorium, using the 2 furtherest feed stations, and we think her new burrow is near the wombatorium. polly is also coming back and forth from wombatorium (released before buble) We will shut them out of the wombatorium as its flora's turn soon for fitness building for a sept re - release.

Bubles Re-release went well she came and went frothier wombatorium over 3 months and is not even very often her at rocklily, a fat healthy girl and within he had a joey in her pouch least time we saw her on a wildlife camera. She is living a wildlife after two extra chances, her initial rescue from her mum hit on the road and then the cyst in her bone that we treated we can that second chance salon!
