Once upon a Rhyme
"Goosey, goosey gander,
Whither shall I wander?
Upstairs and downstairs,
And in my lady's chamber.
There I met an old man,
Who would not say his prayers.
I took him by the left leg,
and threw him down the stairs."
The earliest version of the rhyme goosey, goosey gander, printed in 1784, didn't include the last four lines but instead ended with the lines
"Upstairs and downstairs,
In my lady's chamber,
There you'll find a cup of sack,
And a race of ginger."
The version that is popular today likely incorporated the lyrics from the nursery rhyme about a crane fly (or Daddy long legs) below!
"Old father long legs,
Can't say his prayers,
Take him by the left leg,
And throw him down the stairs.”

Brooches don’t like to be put through the wash. In fact, keep them away from water. The acrylic pieces can over time get scratches on the surface. If stored correctly, this will not be a problem. Keep them out of direct sunlight and indoor lighting.
