Luna’s Story: Rescued 24.4.2016 inital release 24.4.2018 Returned 2019

Luna’s Story: She hobbled back after being released for a few years. We managed to get her to Dr Howard Ralph and sedated her under his instructions. She had a badly infected back knee, no visible wound, it could have started from something as small as a mosquito bite. She needed rest and injections of painkiller and antibiotic for six weeks! That was our first challenge. Locked in her old joey enclosure shed, with the burrow blocked off, she chose to sleep in a deep bed of hay where she'd disappear, then launch herself out, snapping and ready to bite! The injections stung. Eventually she moved back up to the main wombatorium for grass and a burrow to regain fitness, before her second soft release.
