Spoke’s story; He came in 2016 at 15kg,

So was at least 2 years old. He was severely dehydrated, stressed, and had been someone's pet, fed dog food: his poo told us this. He would have had a build-up of vitamin D in his liver and a short life expectancy.  His spine was curved, and very unhappy, he didn't eat grass for ages. It was a long journey, starting with months of bottle-fed wombat milk with additives, to turn him around to eating grass. It took a long time to stop his extreme, repetitive attacking of towels, grass, etc. After more than 12 months, he finally became the wombat he should be, and was supported-soft-released here.

       Then, in July 2025, we could hardly believe our eyes when he was caught on a wildlife camera looking great. Spoke is now 11 years old; we are surprised and delighted. He is looking better than we could have ever expected.
