2009 Spud our first ever wombat Not released at Rocklily

2009 Spud our first ever wombat

Spud our first ever wombat in 2009-10, rescued on a trip to Rocklily from Sydney. At 500 gas our baby  possum experience really helped that first sleety weekend. Phil and Lesley other wildlife carers became our mentors on all things wombats and releasing (a big thank you here).  Sleep deprived nights, and a slow feeder  had me falling asleep with Spud escaping the bag and squeezing around behind my neck. Spud was given to Phil and Lesley at 5kg  raised and soft released by them. She was seen a bit after her release

Spud getting super sized now around 16kg  she was very relaxed with Warwick
